Jenni Murray
MTS Apprentice at Norwest Anglican
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my page!
I’m Jenni, and for the past 14 years I’ve been working as a secondary school teacher across a range of subjects, mostly in History and Christian Studies. After starting to consider whether I might move into ministry, I began serving at our church youth group a few years ago. Since then there’s been a lot of prayer, conversations, and reflections, and at the end of 2024 my husband Pete and I decided I should begin an MTS apprenticeship in 2025.

I am so grateful for this opportunity God has given me! There’s so much to learn and I’m really looking forward to diving deeper into the Bible and becoming equipped with a whole range of new skills. I’m thankful for whatever support you’re able to give, whether that be through prayer or financial donations. You can join my email list and find out more about how to support me below, as well as see my regular newsletter updates.

What is MTS?
In Romans 10:13-15 Paul reminds us of the importance of sending people out to preach the gospel so that people will call on the name of the Lord and be saved. It is with this responsibility in mind that I have accepted a ministry position for the next two years at Norwest Anglican Church, undertaking a ministry apprenticeship through a programme known as the Ministry Training Strategy (MTS). This is an exciting opportunity for me to learn more about ministry and serving our Lord Jesus in the future.

MTS encourages Christians to consider making gospel work their life’s work. I will experience ministry ‘first hand’ in a training programme based on prayer, Bible study, theological reflection and practical ministry. Working closely with senior staff and others who will provide ongoing feedback throughout my apprenticeship, will allow me to assess my long-term suitability for ministry roles. I will also be undertaking an Advanced Diploma of Ministry part-time through Youthworks College.

In 2 Corinthians 8:4 Paul explains that it is a privilege to be sharing in the service of God’s people, and in Philippians 1:3-6 he expresses his joy in the partnership of the gospel. I am undertaking this apprenticeship with great joy in the privilege of sharing in this partnership through MTS. I feel that this is where God has led me after many years of considering moving into ministry. It gives me the opportunity to explore my passion for God and discover more about the gifts God has given me to share his good news with others. Furthermore, this time will equip me to learn more about his word and how to care for his people. It will also provide me with the opportunity to be mentored by those with a wealth of ministry experience and guide me in deciding whether full-time ministry is part of God’s plans for my future.
Support
I would love for you to prayerfully consider supporting me through MTS. There are three ways in which you can be a gospel partner over these important two years:
1
Financially
The cost for every MTS position is borne by both Norwest Anglican Church and by each apprentice’s family and friends. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially during this time? You can do this by donating into the following tax deductible account:

Account name: NWA Ancillary Fund
BSB: 062 000
Account number: 16441018
Please add the reference: "4-1240 Ministry Training"
2
Through prayer
All ministry is done under the conviction that God is the one who is control of all things. We plant seeds and God is the one who gives growth. I would greatly appreciate your partnership in prayer as I undertake my apprenticeship. You can receive regular prayer points by subscribing to my newsletter updates.
3
By being informed
Each term I will share a newsletter containing all that I have been doing and learning in my apprenticeship. By being aware of what is happening, you can receive updated prayer points and discover other ways you can support and partner with me.
